Visualization #1

One big part in "Identical" is when Kaeleigh is in her kitchen and she's having breakfast. This may not seem like anything special but cooking has always been a big part in my family. (even though I'm not such a good cook) I can remember my mother trying to teach me how to bake cookies when I was younger, and how they smelt when I burnt them. (not so good) I can also remember the feeling the first time I cracked an egg and got it all over me, which was disgusting. Remembering things like this and connecting them to things you do/ have done can really help paint a picture in your head and help you remember specific things.

  1. Nice comments, Corinne! I think connecting those things really helps you remember your reading, too....in fact, I know they do because of all the research I have done :) But, I am very happy that you are actually experiencing it working for you.

I have similar memories about learning how to bake. Some of mine are with my mom, some with Grandma Huckle and some with Grandma Jordan. We used to go to Grandma Jordan's after school on the bus sometimes, as her house is 1/4 of a mile from ours. My brothers would play outside and I would "help" Grandma bake cookie by mixing whatever she put in the bowl. She didn't trust me enough to do much else and, to this day, mixing the ingredients (dry into wet) is still my favorite thing about baking.
