Before reading "Identical" I had heard from my peers that Ellen Hopkins has a history of writting about scary or touchy subjects, such as death and abuse. Before I started reading the book I had heard from friends that there is sexual abuse invloved and that one of the main characters stuggles with it through the book and has a hard life. For example, "Burned" another book by the same author has abuse in it also. The main character and members of her family are abused, and have over bearing fathers just like in, "Identical." From the details I heard from my peers and the information I had gathered before I started the book, I predicted hard lives for the main characters, that might involve abuse and a hard family life.
